The Film

Synopsis

A young psychologist who conducts secret nighttime meetings draws suspicion, as the steady flow of discreet visitors leads those around her to believe she is an escort girl running a high-end service.

Behind the suspicious façade lies a unique and unconventional therapy designed exclusively for patients on the autism spectrum. When a wealthy couple in a crisis of desire uncovers her secret and coerces her into helping them, the balance of power shifts — forcing her to choose between protecting her patients and saving herself.

A Groundbreaking Performance

GABRIELLA features an autistic actor in a deeply authentic and moving performance, bringing rare emotional truth and sensitivity to the film.

In Their Words

Director's Statement

“GABRIELLA was born from a desire to explore the quiet tension between who we are and who we feel we are allowed to be.”

From the very beginning, we knew that GABRIELLA would not be a conventional thriller. We were drawn to the idea of a woman who operates in the liminal space between societal expectation and personal truth — a psychologist who, by choosing an unconventional path to heal her patients, inadvertently exposes the judgments and moral contradictions of those around her.

The story emerged from conversations we had about how quickly we project our own fears and desires onto others. Gabriella's neighbors, colleagues, and even friends choose to see what confirms their own biases — and that mechanism, that rush to label and condemn, became the engine of our narrative.

One of the most meaningful aspects of this project is the inclusion of an autistic actor in a central role. This was not a symbolic gesture — it was essential to our vision. We wanted the audience to experience something raw and unfiltered, a performance that challenges conventional screen acting and invites empathy rather than pity. The result exceeded anything we could have scripted.

GABRIELLA is, ultimately, a film about masks — the ones we wear, the ones we force onto others, and the courage it takes to remove them. We hope it sparks uncomfortable, necessary conversations.

The company was created with a clear mission: to develop and produce bold, character-driven stories that challenge social conventions and explore the complexities of human behavior — narratives that live at the intersection of auteur cinema and accessible storytelling.

Based in Israel with strong ties to the European market, TLV Dream Pictures aims to build a slate of internationally co-produced films that bridge cultures and audiences. Their debut feature, GABRIELLA, reflects the DNA of the company: a film that blends genres, confronts taboos, and gives voice to underrepresented perspectives.
